4. Managing the alert
filters

In order to reduce the number of
alerts, it is possible to fine-tune the parameters.
Select a disk and double-click or click on the
settings keyword. Several disks may be selected (Ctrl +
Click)
in order to apply the same change.
Choose the duration of the fragmentation check and the level
requested to send an alert when passed.
In order to run the standard defragmentation program on a
disk if the lacelevel is higher than the defined filter, you have
to mark the option. A Second Level
Alert will be generated if the results of defragmentation did not
improve the situation. In this case further actions has to be taken.
Warning: If you chose to use this option, you have to remember
that fragmentation is a very long process, so you are strongly advised
to change the "At:" parameter time in which the scan and defrag will
happen, in order not to disturb your user.
5. History

No one saw
before the "Heart-beats" of data quality along the life cycle of disks.
Clicking on the HISTORY button will open a ".CSV" file for
the selected disk. You will be able to plot the graph of your
fragmentation level moving along the time axis. This is a unique
view that no one was able to produce before.
More than one
disk can be selected to construct an installation fragmentation level
behavior pattern.
In the
example you can see that DEFRAG was activated on 24/10 where the
fragmentation level was 8.5 over the chosen threshold, and on 3/12 at
level 9.1
In the
future this graph will be embedded into LaceWatcher. Currently,
it can be easily plotted via Excel (XY scatter graph).
